Many years of first-hand experience working within the cleaning industry have shown us that it is not uncommon to find an array of poor practices, including illegal labour, modern slavery, poor working conditions with no rights or recourse to the law, shortchanging of customers, overcharging clients and poor treatment of an easily overlooked workforce.

So what really makes us different I hear you ask….

The London Ethical Cleaning Company is trying to make tangible change to the experience of an often exploited and easily overlooked workforce. We are doing this by reworking the typical business model and holding a few core principles at the heart of everything we do.

Eco consciousness

We use green and sustainable cleaning products, which are concentrated to help reduce single use plastics and emissions and carbon and environmental impact reduction reports are available on request. We have teamed up with several other eco conscious companies to provide consumable products such as luxury bamboo loo rolls, FSC Certified paper towels and socially responsible soaps.

Compassionate Leadership

We strongly believe in the promotion of the health and happiness of our entire team and recognise leadership structures and values play a key role in accomplishing this. As such, our approach to leadership development is based upon our Four Pillars of Compassionate Leadership which are;

  • Continuous commitment to equality and inclusion

  • Clear roles and a strong team

  • Constructive and ethical people management

  • Mutual support and altruism throughout the company

Staff Wellbeing

As part of our mission to promote staff wellbeing we have committed to pay all staff members more than the Living Wage Foundation's London Living Wage from their very first day of employment at The London Ethical Cleaning Company. We also work hard to ensure everyone is valued, respected and celebrated so to recognise achievements and promote wellbeing we offer staff birthday leave, flexible working and staff bulletin boards to recognise achievements company wide.

Health & Safety

Employee health and safety is our highest priority, so it goes without saying we always provide all the training and information needed to stay safe whilst at work. Cleaning operatives and managers are fully trained to both safely and effectively use all equipment and cleaning materials provided to them.

We believe maintaining and always evolving these principles ensure a healthier, more mutually beneficial experience for clients and staff alike.
